Meet the Covalent Team

 

Matthew Shipley, President

Matthew is the Founder and President of Covalent Media Lab with over 15 years of industry experience in a variety of design and creative media. In addition to serving as a strategic resource for clients, Matthew oversees the agency's day to day operations, and initiates and manages strategic partnerships.

Matthew has worked with industry giants like Southwestern Bell, American Airlines, GTE, AMX, Procter and Gamble, Radio Shack, Frito-Lay, Texas Instruments, BlueCross-BlueShield and Microsoft. He is also the Creative Marketing Officer for Locust International, a global soccer apparel and equipment manufacturer.

Interesting Fact: Played professional soccer in Iceland, England and the US.

School: Auburn University

 

Chris Hershberger, Director of Business Development

Chris has served as Covalent's Director of Business Development since February 2008. He oversees the Business Development function and also focuses on strengthening and supporting the lab's marketing and business development efforts.

Before joining Covalent, Chris was at MangoMobile (an Omnicom Company) where he managed shortcodes, program approval, and program integration. While at Mango, Chris worked with such agencies as TPN, TicToc, and GMR and clients such as the Vans Warp Tour, McDonald's, AXE, Toyota, and The NFL.

Chris’ past experience also include holding the COO position at International Sports and Media Group, Inc. (ISMG) where he directed and developed business plans and sales forecasts to maximize sales volumes, increase revenues, boost efficiencies and reduce operating expenses, oversaw public relations including the development of public relation campaigns and press releases, and assisted in creation of one of the largest soccer publication (90 Minutes) in the United States. While at ISMG, Chris worked with ESPN & Fox Sports.

 

Gavin Twigger, Creative Strategist

Gavin is responsible for the creative vision and engagement at Covalent Media Lab. Gavin brings to Covalent a unique combination of buy cycles and lead generation thought leadership commonly seen in direct response programs and the creative vision required to support traditional media campaigns from above-the-line agencies.

Before joining Covalent Gavin was Group Creative Director at IMC2 and led digital creative for P&G packaged goods brands.

Gavin was also Executive Creative Director at Rapp Collins where he was responsible for interactive creative strategy on SunTrust Bank, Bank of America, PlayStation, Aegis, DIRECTV, SBC, and Toyota.

Amy Milligan, Director of Internet Marketing

Amy consults with you to develop SEM and SEO strategies that meet your business needs.  She brings to Covalent the perspective of the client – along with years of experience developing and managing technical strategies and solutions.

Amy understands business needs. She’s managed people and projects for over 14 years. What really drives her is listening to clients and creating solutions.

In her prior experience, Amy led consulting efforts for large-scale technology projects and served as Director of Operations for investment advisory and global actuarial consulting firms.
